Keith Richard Howlett, known to clients as "Keith Richards", was born on July 1, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio. He passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, in Frisco, Texas.
Keith grew up in Willoughby, outside of Cleveland Ohio, and attended Willoughby South H.S. and participated in theatre at Andrews Academy. He also attended Cleveland State University. He worked for years at Ohio Bell, then came to Texas in the 1980's to raise funds for the oil and movie business.
Keith advanced in his career and became a Recruiting Manager of a national recruiting firm DHRG and later as a partner at Technical Careers of Dallas where he oversaw 4 offices. He trained some of the top technical recruiters in the Dallas area. Keith was active on the boards of the Metroplex Association and Texas Association of Professional Consultants and won dozens of awards for his achievements. Keith also was on the Board of the Richardson Chamber high tech group. His last career was working with four large Texas regions of BNI for seven years, recruiting Director consultants.
Keith was a devoted husband, extremely supportive of his wife, and was very proud of her. He also loved and spoiled their two new little kittens.
He could always strike up a conversation and make friends all over the world! Especially when talking about books. His collection had spanned over 2,500 books. And he always gave away boxes of books to friends. He was virtually an expert on music and movies, peaking at over 800 CDs in his very diverse collection.
Keith's legacy with reading touched everyone who knew him. His friends and family remember him not just as a book lover, but more of a tour guide of books!
For decades he was a diver. He achieved Assistant Dive Master status and Scuba First aid certification. He traveled to Mexico for years, then Pemba Island outside of Tanzania, and dove in Indonesia, and even visited Komodo Island where he held two huge snakes over his shoulders.
Keith is survived by his loving wife, Shelli Howlett, of almost 25 years, and brother Kevin Howlett and his wife Teresa. Most of his family is in the UK including Lesley Smart and husband Chris and many others living in Whitstable, Canterbury, Folkestone, Manchester, Kent and Christ Church areas.
The family will receive friends for a visitation from 3-5:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2026, at Allen Family Funeral Options in Plano, Texas.
