Keadron Nelson Ellis

December 14, 1925 — June 10, 2021

Keadron Nelson Ellis was born on December 14, 1925, in O’Donnell, Texas to Cecil C. and Agnes Wyatt Nelson. She was the youngest of 5 children.  Keadron married the love of her life, Robert A. Ellis on February 17, 1946 in Ft. Worth and raised 4 children.

Keadron will be remembered for her devotion to her family – A true Proverbs 31 wife and mother. She taught her children unconditional love, forgiveness, patience, and perseverance. Her children remember a house filled with love and laughter, resourcefulness, and positivity, even in tough times. She moved around Texas, blooming wherever she was planted, primarily in Ft Worth, Houston, Dallas, Plano, and, in retirement years, found her true home in a little 1930’s farmhouse in the country near Carmine, Texas.

Keadron was faith filled. She and Robert spent time traveling and witnessing at churches across the country in the mid to late sixties. They were founding members of Christ Church Plano, where she sang in the choir. She loved prayer and fellowship with a true servant’s heart. Keadron made friends and cuddled babies everywhere she went. She was blessed with many dear friends, all of whom have an endearing or funny story to tell.

Even in her traditional life, Keadron had a sense of adventure – traveling across Europe with Loyce and Jean, touring Scotland and Ireland in her later years, drinking single-malt scotch, driving her bright blue Mini Cooper, and laughing often. She never looked or acted her age.

She was equally at home by herself – taking on a home project, reading books or sitting on the porch enjoying her garden. She loved flowers, the color pink, pretty shoes, big band music, tea, and time with family. Even at the very end, she never lost her thoughtfulness, her sense of humor, or her grace.

In death Keadron will be reunited with her parents Cecil and Agnes Nelson, her siblings- Loyce Marshall, Audra, Jack and Leslie Nelson and her husband of 50 years, Robert Ellis.

She is survived by her children and children by marriage- Keadron (Debbie) and Lawrence Finn, Robert (Corky) and Kay Ellis, Jean Gardner, William (Bill) and Kay Ellis and Bob Salmi, as well as her grandchildren- Keadron Friar, Scott Finn, Amanda MacWithey, Kristin Jewell,

Jennifer Cravatt, Stephen Salmi , and great- grandchildren -Ethan, Davis and Noah Jewell, Aiden Garcia, and Robert and Amara Friar.

A funeral service will be held to honor Keadron’s life Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Christ Church Plano, 4550 Legacy Dr., Plano, Texas with The Rev. Jeff Rawn officiating.

Keadron will be laid to rest in Isaac Hill Cemetery in Round Top, Texas with her late husband and her parents.
