Kathy Jean Mills

Kathy Jean (Meek) Mills was born January 28, 1951 in Amarillo, Texas to parents Rev. Ken and Velda (Radden) Mills.

She grew up as the daughter of a Baptist preacher and traveled around the state of Texas as he served as pastor in many churches. Kathy graduated from Union High School in 1969 and then moved to Plano, Texas that same year.

Kathy met the love of her life at the First Baptist Church of Plano and they were married on May 29, 1970. They had two children that she loved with her whole heart. Kathy had a childlike faith and loved the Lord and his people; especially the babies. She went to be with the Lord July 15, 2018 in Allen, Texas. She will be remembered for her cheerful, loving and giving spirit.

Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Larry Mills, daughter Shelly Merritt and her husband Peter, son Brad Mills and his wife Lisa, grandchildren Cody and Alex Merritt and Caden, Gabe and Colton Mills, brother Danny Meek and his wife Sherry, brother in law Jack Mills and his wife Sue, sisters in law Loretta Roberts, Linda Long and her husband Larry.

The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options. A funeral service to celebrate Kathy’s life will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Chase Oaks Church, 281 Legacy Dr., Plano, Texas in the Legacy Room. Officiated by Pastor Tim Wright.

Kathy will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Cottage Hill Cemetery, Celina, Texas.
