Kathryn Branson Wood

March 3, 1946 — January 15, 2022

Kathryn was born on March 3, 1946, in Dallas, Texas to Uzzell S. Branson, Jr. & Kathryn Collins Branson. She passed away January 15, 2022, in McKinney, Texas.

She graduated from Hillcrest High School and attended Trinity University in San Antonio until she met the love of her life, Paul D. Wood and married in 1966. Their life together started in Hawaii where her first child, Kacy, was born. A few years later in Dallas her second child, James, was born, completing her family of four. While the children were growing-up she lived and worked in Dallas, Michigan, and Tennessee. She worked for Robert Orr Sysco while they lived in Nashville for six years. Once they moved back to Dallas, she worked for Sysco Dallas for a year and then retired.

Kathy loved socializing with her friends, spending time with her family, growing every flower under the sun, but especially roses, and reading any & all books.

Kathryn is survived by her husband Paul D. Wood, her daughter Kacy Oden (husband Marshall), grandchildren Collin Jones and Kate (Xanth) Oden, her son James Wood (wife Michelle), grandchildren Aki Wood and Kai Wood, her brother Uzzell S. Branson, III and many wonderful cousins.

Kathy (aka Grams by her grandchildren) was a fun loving and social person who loved people and her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Rd., Plano, Texas 75075.
