Judith Ann Richard

March 4, 1941 — July 16, 2018

Judith Ann Richard, 77, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2018 in Frisco, TX.  Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend.   She will be missed by all, especially her son, Troy, his wife Jan, and her two grandsons, Blake and Nathan (all of Plano, TX).

Judy was raised in Beallsville, Ohio by her parents Glenn and Cecile Jones along with her siblings Betty, Larry, Sandy and John.   The family relocated to Columbus where Judy graduated from Eastmoor HS and went on to take a job at the Ohio Dept. of Corrections.  Judy married the love of her life in 1962, Tommy (Rich) Richard, and they settled down on the far east side of town, ultimately making their full time home in Reynoldsburg.   Judy embarked on a second career as an office manager with Honeywell Protection Services where she was affectionately known as the "Office Mom" and eventually retired.  She developed many special relationships over the years with co-workers, neighbors, school friends and church members.  Many of them will remember her as an avid card player, cook, baker, sports fan and even a shuffleboard player or square-dancer.  Judy especially enjoyed her retirement years with her husband, siblings and in-laws as the extended family made their annual trips to Bradenton, FL and their "snowbird" homes every winter.

Judy and Rich enjoyed 54 years of marriage together, until Rich was called home to the Lord in October of 2016.  Shortly thereafter, Judy moved to Texas to be closer to her son and family and try to adjust to her new lifestyle.  She struggled to find her way without her lifelong partner by her side and faced additional challenges with the onset of dementia and other health issues.   Everyone who got to know Judy will miss her dearly and always have fond memories of her in their hearts.

Judith is survived by, son: Troy Richard and his wife, Jan, grandsons: Blake and Nathan Richard, sisters: Sandy Wells and Betty Gates.

No services will be held in Texas, but plans for a memorial in central Ohio will be announced later this summer
