Joyce Belsky Canavan was born January 16, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois to parents James and Mildred (Kruhelic) Belsky.
After a long, adventurous & fun filled life, Joyce has reunited with her mother Mildred Belsky and Father James Belsky who preceded her in death. She is survived by three remaining cousins, Sharon Roth, Bill Pondelicek and Russell Holmes; as well as her extended family to include Papa Don Smith, Elbie Pretorius, Mary and Gary Grunewald, Vicki Gilbert, Skip Kleinfelder, Rick Howrilka, Marti Conner, John and Kathy Grady, Scott Sullivan and Debra van Bolden.
She will be remembered by her contagious laugh, unapologetic approach and love of life, mind blowing stories of her life’s journey, and all the people she loved so dearly not to mention her crazy shenanigans. She loved animals, cheap sweet wine, playing slot machines, Jesus Christ, greyhounds, cold beer on a hot day, racehorses, the Chicago Bears, letting her hair down on the back of a motorcycle, and all her family and friends that she kept close.
Her professional life was as adventurous as her approach to life. She was a property manager, executive assistant, legal assistant, survey taker, and mama to us all!
There will be a celebration of Joyce’s life Wednesday April 27, 2022, from 5:00 -9:00 p.m. at Reservoir at Toyota Music Factory, 330 West Los Colinas Blvd, Irving, Texas 75039
In lieu of flowers please feel free to donate to Joyce’s Go-Fund-Me account gofundme.com/f/joyce-canavan-memorial. Any remaining funds will be donated to the Greyhound Dog Rescue, an organization for which Joyce had a soft spot in her heart for.
