Joseph Orchowski

Joseph Brian Orchowski passed away on March 27, 2023, in Plano, Texas. Joe was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 3, 1949. Joe was the second child of Zig and Irene Orchowski and brother to Susan Maranto.

Joe grew up on the South Side of Chicago and attended Brother Rice High School, class of 1967. He attended Western Illinois University and graduated with a bachelor’s in business administration, furthering his education with a master’s degree from Illinois Benedictine College.

Later Joe met and married Patti Ryan of Chicago in June 1974. Joe started a long career with 3M Company as a sales manager, where he spent 35+ years. After starting a family in LaGrange, Illinois, Patti and Joe moved around the country to Minnesota, Texas, Massachusetts, and back to Texas.

Joe enjoyed traveling the world via cruise ship with Patti and close friends, spending time with his three young grandchildren, golfing with friends, and sitting by the pool with a cigar and a gin martini. Joe spent much of his free time volunteering with the St. Vincent DePaul Society, where he functioned as treasurer and found creative solutions to help people in need.

Joe is survived by his wife Patti, son Matthew Orchowski (Tracy) and daughter Kathryn Cantaboni (Alex), and three grandchildren, Sophie and Waylon Orchowski and Luca Cantaboni, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends for a visitation to celebrate Joe from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
