Joseph Mcgrane

February 13, 1944 — December 21, 2024

Joseph Arthur McGrane, age 80, son of Margaret and Joseph McGrane, passed away December 21, 2024.

Joe grew up in a very close-knit and loving family, the eldest of four sisters. His family instilled values of love, integrity, and hard work which were ever present in his life. Joe started in construction working alongside his father-in-law as a laborer in New York. With hard work, passion and determination he retired as Safety Director for Austin Commercial after 27 years.

Joe mentored countless people. His selflessness touched the lives of many whether at work or his many volunteering commitments. He thrived when he was able to aid those in need. Joe was a deeply beloved husband, brother, father, Papa, uncle, and friend. He was a rock to so many, from his years with Austin Commercial making sure everyone was safe to ministering to those in need with Stephen Ministries.

Joe’s calm demeanor, comforting hugs, and unwavering loyalty made him a pillar of strength, the one you could always rely on for stability and wise counsel. His generosity surpassed most and when with him, you became the center of his attention with his listening ear. Even though he's gone, his spirit lives on in those he touched, and his legacy will always be a part of all of us.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his sisters Peggy (Luke), Cathy, Jeanne (Les), and Clare; his children, Meredith (Lee), Chris (Veronica), Dennis (Melissa), and Colin (Kinome); step children, Tracy (John), Doug (Ashley), Dan (Kelly); grandchildren, Ryan (Caryl), Allison, Brie (Josh), Cierstin (Ronnie), Emily (Joe), Adara (Heriberto), Sarah, Donovan, Steven (Rosemary), Allie, Kamden, Lily, Joe; nephews Eddie, Robbie and 8 great grandchildren. He was proceeded to Heaven by his beloved mother and father.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

John 14:27
