Joseph (Joe) Francis Tressa of Fairview, Texas passed away June 24, 2019 at the age of 79 after bravely battling lymphoma.
Joe was born in New York City November 12, 1939 to Joseph Andrew Tressa and Kathryn May Rice Tressa. He grew up on Long Island and attended East Meadow High School, which he left to serve his country in the Air Force. He returned from service and dedicated most of his entire career to the automotive industry in several prestigious dealerships and ultimately owning his own brokerage business. In addition to his passion for cars, Joe had several even deeper loves. Caring for his family was his greatest commitment, sharing his love equally to children and stepchildren and making sure they were secure and educated to the levels of their individual aspirations. His devotion was most evident in how he and the love of his life, Anne, supported each other as they traveled, played and fought their cancers together. She was his “sidekick” and best friend. Perhaps his longest-running passion was golf. Over the decades, Joe collected golf buddies across the nation. His steady, consistent, low-handicap play was surpassed only by the depth of friendship he had with his fellow golfers. His crowning success was placing second in the Member-Member Tournament at his home course, Heritage Ranch, two weeks before his passing. Joe lit up every room he entered with his wit, smile, laugh and truly caring connection with everyone he met.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Anne Tressa of Fairview, Texas; children and step-children Joey Tressa and wife Lisa, Jason Tressa, James Tressa, Melanie Waits Healy and husband Josh, Bryan Waits, Tony Diamond and wife Lisa, Suzanne Hart and husband Casey, Jason Diamond and wife Kay; grandchildren Thomas Diamond, Drew Diamond and wife Katie, Sarah Diamond, Logan Hart, Landon Hart, Elias Tressa, Jackson Healy, Preston Healy and Hudson Healy; brother Jim Tressa and wife Debbie and their children Stephen, Jessica, and Jennifer.
