José Rodríguez Tristán nació el 19 de Marzo de 1940 en Cañas, San Luis Potosí, México, de padres Refugio Rodríguez y Modesta Tristán. José falleció en la casa de su hijo Horacio rodeado de su familia el Vernes 13 de Diciembre de 2024, la día de la memorial de Santa Lucía, Virgen y Mártir.

José, un ranchero y trabajador ganadero, estuvo casado durante casi sesenta años a Nicolasa Ledesma y tuvo siete hijos, dieciocho nietos y nueve bisnietos. Su don para contar historias, su amor por los camarones empanizados, las reuniones familiares y el aire libre, su pasión por cuidar su tierra y su fe en el Señor siguen inspirando a todos los que lo amaban. Muchos se sintieron conmovidos por sus sabias y firmes pero amorosas palabras de consejo después de hablar con José. Su humilde crianza y su estilo de vida sencillo lo llevaron a grandes logros como padre, cuidador de sus animales y orgulloso propietario de sus tierras de cultivo.

La familia de José agradece profundamente el cuidado y apoyo que recibió durante su tratamiento de diálisis y el apoyo que recibió su familia durante los últimos días de su vida. Cuando su enfermedad avanzaba, él seguía siendo un hombre dedicado y de una fe fuerte, y le decía a su familia lo importante que era para él recibir la comunión y asistir a misa los Domingos. Cuando le preguntaron si se sentía listo para encontrarse con el Señor, dijo con gran fe: "Estoy listo para encontrarme junto a mi esposa Nico en el cielo". El tiempo que pasó con su esposa, hijos, familia y amistades fueron los momentos más felices de su vida.

A José le sobreviven su amada familia, sus hijos Horacio y Mauro, sus hijas Vita, Carmen, Adriana y Rosalva, sus hermanos Federico y Felipe, sus hermanas Irene, Lina, Felicitas, Ofelia y Celia, diecisiete nietos y nueve bisnietos. Le precedieron en la Muerte, sus padres, su esposa Nicolasa Ledesma, sus hermanos Fortunato e Hilario, su hijo Jesús Elías y su nieto Daniel.

Se llevará a cabo un velorio el viernes 20 de diciembre de 2024, de 6:00 a 9:00 p. m. en Allen Family Funeral Options en Plano, Texas. La Visitación comenzará a las 6:00 p.m. con Rosario a continuación.

Una misa de funeral será a las 13:00 horas. el sábado 21 de diciembre de 2024 en la iglesia católica St. Jude en Allen, Texas, seguido de una recepción.

El entierro seguirá a la recepción en el cementerio Wilson Chapel en McKinney, Texas.

Jose Rodriguez Tristan was born March 19th, 1940, in Cañas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to parents Refugio Rodriguez and Modesta Tristan. Jose passed away peacefully at his son Horacio’s home surrounded by his family on Friday, December 13th, 2024, the day of the memorial of Saint Lucy, Virgin and Martyr.

Jose, a hardworking rancher and farmer, was married for almost sixty years to Nicolasa Ledesma and had seven children, eighteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. His gift for storytelling, his love of fried shrimp, family gatherings and the outdoors, his passion for tending his land, and his faith to the Lord continue to inspire all who loved him. Many were touched by his wise and firm yet loving words of advice after speaking with Jose. His humble upbringings and simple ways of life led to great achievements as a father, and proud owner of his ranch and farmland.

Jose’s family deeply appreciates the care and support of Jose during his dialysis treatment and the support for his family during the final days of his life while in hospice. When his illness was progressing, he was still a dedicated man of strong faith, he said to his family how important it was for him receive communion and attend mass on Sundays. When asked if he felt ready to meet the Lord, he said with great faith, " "I am ready to meet my wife Nico in heaven." The time he spent with his wife, children, family and friends were the happiest times of his life.

Jose is survived by his loving family, sons Horacio and Mauro, his daughters Vita, Carmen, Adriana and Rosalva, his brothers Federico and Felipe, his sisters Irene, Lina, Felicitas, Ofelia, and Celia, his seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both his parents, his wife Nicolasa Ledesma, his brothers Fortunato and Hilario, his son Jesus Elias and his grandson Daniel.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Allen Family Funeral Options in Plano, Texas. The Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Rosary to follow.

A Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas, with a reception to follow.

The burial will follow the reception at the Wilson Chapel Cemetery in McKinney, Texas.

“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who have died, so that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died.”
