Jose Mario Fajardo, 83, peacefully passed away on April 5, 2026, in Allen, Texas. He was in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving wife and family as he peacefully transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior.
He was born on January 20, 1943 in El Salvador (Central America) and as a young boy, his parents instilled in him to be self-driven, self-motivated and self-reliant and to always chase after his dreams through education and hard work and most of all faith in our Lord. This is what shaped him into becoming the man we all knew and loved. He attended the University of El Salvador (in San Salvador) where he obtained his Architecture degree in hopes of one day starting his own business. Soon after he moved to Santa Ana, E.S. and became the Director of the Engineering Department for the City of Santa Ana, E.S. After a few years, he was able to make his dream come true and started his own construction business. To this day a few of his buildings and park structures remain in Santa Ana, E.S.
He met his loving wife of 57 years, Dora Fajardo, and married in 1969. In 1981 they made the most difficult decision to migrate to the USA. They left behind a wonderful life filled with friends and family in order to provide a safe future for their young daughters: Mayra, Astrid, Carmina and Josmary. This is where the American Dream originated for the Fajardo family.
Mario worked hard every day to provide for his wife and daughters. He never hesitated to provide guidance, support, meaningful conversation, and laughter to his friends and family in time of need. Throughout his lifetime, he made amazing friendships where they shared many memorable moments from traveling, bible studies, dinners to late night dancing.
He enjoyed music so much that over the years he gathered a great collection of vinyl records and cassettes. In addition to listening to music, he loved to play the accordion every morning for his family. He had a passion for gardening, reading, playing ping-pong and going on walks with his family. He cherished the company of his wife and daughters during those times where many great conversations were had.
Mario will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and great-grandfather.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, kind words, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
Mario will forever remain in our hearts.
Mario is survived by his wife Dora Fajardo; daughters Mayra West and husband Walter, Astrid Rojas, Carmina Warchol and husband Allen and Josmary Gomez and husband Percy; grandchildren Daniel and Krista West, Alex and Rockie Rojas, Juliana and Marisa Warchol, Gabriel, Samantha and Rebecca Gomez; great grandchildren Hailey L West, Izaiah Rojas, and Baby girl Rojas expected in June 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents Heriberto Antonio and Ester (Cerna) Fajardo; sisters Elsa Fajardo Cerna and Dora Fajardo Cerna.
The family will receive friends for a visitation from 5-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2026, at Allen Family Funeral Options. The family will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m.
There will be a memorial mass at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 16, 2026, at St. Jude Catholic Church. Followed by a reception.
Jose Mario will be laid to rest at the St. Jude Catholic Church Columbarium.
