John (Jj) Pisciotta

July 6, 1945 — September 8, 2023

John Pisciotta, a devoted husband, loving father, brother, and cherished papaw, passed away on September 8th, 2023, at the age of 78. Known as “JJ” to all his friends and family, he leaves behind a legacy of love, family, laughter, and beloved memories.

He was born on July 6, 1945, to Alexander and Mathilde Pisciotta in the small town of Leonville, Louisiana. While working in his family’s gas stations in Irving, Texas is where he developed his love for fast cars and a strong work ethic. He attended Jesuit Preparatory Academy and eventually graduated from Irving High School in 1963. John was a true businessman with passions ranging from snow cone stands, sales, home renovations and repairs. He was also a true hard worker who enjoyed the finer things in life that he would call good whiskey, a Cuban cigar, and a hot blackjack table.

In 1976 he met the greatest love of his life and best friend, Sharon James Pisciotta. Their enduring love story spanned 45 remarkable years filled with cherished memories, trips to Vegas, and endless laughter. John and Sharon showed everyone, especially their children, what true love and partnership really looked like. They taught them that hard work, patience, selflessness, and respect are not only important, but necessary, for a happy marriage and a happy family.

John's other greatest love was golf. He had a true golfer's spirit, finding peace and joy on the greens. Whether it was just 18 holes or just chipping balls with friends and grandkids he enjoyed every minute of the comradery that golf brought him. On February 9, 2016, he achieved the biggest bucket list item of his life by hitting a hole in one.

Johns’ true passion though was being a granddad and a family man. He never missed a football game, performance, cheer competition, or any event for his grandchildren. Even though he was the biggest food critic, Pina Colada Slurpee’s and Taco Delight were a fan favorite of his as well as many other sweet treats that he enjoyed with his grandchildren. He made it a point to be involved in his children and grandchildren’s life. It was always his passion to instill integrity in his family. He advised, mentored, and most of all loved each one of his children and grandchildren.

JJ was a hero to us all in several different ways, and will be dearly missed by so many, but we are all better because he was in our life. He was a tremendous father, husband, friend, papaw, and brother whose caring heart, quick wit, and sarcastic humor will be remembered forever.

John is survived by his best friend and cherished wife Sharon Pisciotta;  children, Kristine Fallwell and her husband Tom, Bridget Mitchell and her husband Matt, Michael Sheehan and his wife Carla, Tiffany McSimov and her husband Troy, Alex Pisciotta, and his wife Kim; grandchildren include Quinton, Kennedy, Austin, Zane, Mackenzie, Jett, Clancy, Lucas, Lauren, Ashley, Kyle, Collin, Ryan, Joey and Skylar; great grandchildren include Octavius, Atticus, and Penelope; sisters Rose, Connie, and Lori and brothers Errol and his wife Valerie, and Brian; mother in law Dorothy James; sisters in law Susan and April and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Mathilde, and his brother Kenny.

John Pisciotta’s memory will live on in the hearts of his loving family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy of faith, love, and dedication to his passions, profession, and family will continue to inspire us all.
