John Louis Haigh

John Louis "Jack" Haigh, 87, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, in McKinney, Texas. He lived a life filled with laughter, love, service, and a desire to lend a hand. Whether he was fishing, building projects, pulling a prank, or spending time with family, Jack embraced life with humor, generosity, and a heart for others.

Raised on a dairy farm in West Mineral, Kansas, Jack developed the strong work ethic that guided him throughout his life. He attended the University of Tulsa and built a successful career as a computer programmer before founding Compass Advisors, where he developed security software used by both major Houston airports.

Jack married the love of his life, Jane Louise Haigh, and together they raised four children. They built a wonderful life together. After retirement, they fulfilled their dream of living in Crystal Beach, Texas, where Jack spent countless hours fishing, helping neighbors, and enjoying the coastal life he loved. He was a member of the Bolivar Peninsula Fishing club winning numerous trophies.

After Jane's passing, Jack was blessed to find love again with Chris ("Lulu") Parkinson Haigh. Together they shared many happy years traveling, spending time with family, and making treasured memories in Allen, Texas.

Jack never met a project he couldn't tackle, there was very little he couldn't build or fix. He generously shared those talents with anyone who needed a helping hand.

Serving others was one of Jack's greatest passions. Through his church and charitable work on the Bolivar Peninsula, he helped establish a local outreach program and food bank, touching countless lives. His dedication earned him the honor of being named Bolivar Peninsula Citizen of the Year.

Jack was ornery - a natural prankster with a quick wit and infectious sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and never missed an opportunity to tease those he loved. Those who knew Jack will never forget his mischievous grin or his legendary handshake. His greatest joy, however, was his family. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who knew him as Dad, Grandpa, Me-Paw, PaPa and Paw Paw.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Louise Haigh; his parents, Rose and Norman (Dewey) Haigh; his brother, Norman Haigh; and his sisters, Rosemary Bosetti and Florine Dubois.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Chris Parkinson Haigh; his children Terri Fletcher and husband Paul, Chris Haigh and wife Darla, Laurie Brehmer and husband Jeff, and Tracy Pyle and husband Joseph; his grandchildren Michael Haigh and wife Jessica, Terra Rhodes and husband Chris, Kyle Gaines and wife Crystal, Cameron Pyle and wife Megan, Mattison Haigh, Tyler Haigh, Nolan Pyle and wife Diedra, Jack Brehmer, Max Brehmer, Ford Brehmer, and Zoe Brehmer; his great-grandchildren, Emma and Eli Rhodes, Ally Haigh, Colton, Madelynn, and Caiden Pyle, Hayden Gaines, and Jace Haigh; his brother, Thomas Haigh and wife Sheryl; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jane Louise Haigh; his parents Rose and Norman (Dewey) Haigh; his brother Norman Haigh; and his sisters Rosemary Bosetti and Florine Dubois.

The family will greet friends at 1:00 p.m. prior to a celebration of Jack's life at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Allen Family Funeral Options.

Although our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the love, laughter, wisdom, and kindness Jack shared so freely. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his legacy will live on in every fish caught at sunrise, every project completed with care, every act of kindness shown to a neighbor, and every laugh shared among family. Those who knew him will never forget his mischievous grin, or his legendary handshake. It became one of his trademarks, always followed by laughter. It was one of the iconic ways Jack left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
