John Harvey Garrett

John Harvey Garrett, 78, died on July 14, 2023, of natural causes. John was born in Dickson, Tennessee on March 23,1945 to Mabel and Melvin Garrett.

As a teenager, John was a member of the Boy Scouts and attained the rank of Eagle Scout in Waverly, Tennessee. After high school, he attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee for a period of time and was also a member of the Army Reserves. As an adult, he had a long and successful career in sales. He enjoyed bass fishing, dancing, and traveling to both international and domestic locations as a multi-million-mile traveler with American Airlines.

John was preceded in death by both parents. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lynne Garrett, sons Jon Patrick Garrett & wife Pamela Brown Garrett, Richard Lee Garrett, Aaron Grant Palmquist & wife Tammy Renae Palmquist, and five grandchildren; Chelsea Chizuko Griego & husband Timothy Robert Griego , Kameron Kenjiro Garrett & wife Brooklyn Taylor Garrett,  Ashley Lauren Palmquist, Ryan Alexander Palmquist, Caroline Claire Smith and three great-grandchildren, Everett & Ryder Griego and Mavis Garrett.

A celebration of life will be held at Woodpark Community Center at 2932 Tisinger Place Plano, Texas 75075 on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
