James Howard Monti, Jr., age 71, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021, in Plano, Texas. He was born on May 7, 1950, to James and Cecilia Monti in Seattle, Washington. Jimmy and his four siblings grew up in Kennesaw, Georgia where he attended North Cobb High School and graduated with an engineering degree from Southern Technical Institute. After college, Jim followed in his father’s footsteps by joining the United States Navy. He honorably served for four years as a commissioned officer on the USS Saratoga.
While living in Nashville, Tennessee, Jim met a beautiful, kind-hearted women named Marie Womack. He married the love of his life on March 11,1978. The happy couple had many adventures before deciding to make Plano their hometown where they could raise their two amazing children, Krisi, and Jamie.
Jim enjoyed his career as a mechanical engineer and designer. He was a key contributor across multiple industries and has several patented inventions. You know you are in the presence of a passionate engineer when you ask for the time, and you learn how the watch works first! In 2014, Jim was inspired to help the world and established Quick Shot Corporation. As co-founder and expert engineer, his primary purpose was to create an innovative product, with multiple functions, that can help modernize technology in the veterinary and farming industries. His dream will come true!
Anyone who has met Jim knows how he loved life, family, friends, and his hobbies. He was the third of four generations of Monti men to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout and proudly mentor for the Boy Scouts of America. Jim achieved his lifelong dream of earning his Private Pilot License and often visited the Oshkosh airshow with his son Jamie. As an avid supporter of the NRA, he
relished quality time on the range training as well as teaching gun safety and marksmanship. Jim also loved sailing, golf, growing vegetables, cooking handmade pasta and all things Italian. He loved doing whatever Marie asked him to do, pranking his kids by getting them to pull his finger and always said that it is 5 o’clock somewhere.
Jim will always be remembered as a true gentleman, loving husband, amazing father, family’s big brother and loyal friend. We will all miss his loving smile and especially the hugs.
