James (Jim) Brady passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022. He was born on July 14, 1936, in Jersey City, New Jersey to Hugh Brady and Margaret Brady.
He will be remembered as a loving man of deep faith, commitment and service to others. He enjoyed woodworking and handyman projects, especially building ramps for the elderly. During his retirement, he shared these talents by volunteering for Plano Helpers and Habitat for Humanity. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.
Jim spent 6 years in the National Guard serving his country before beginning his career working many years as an Electrical Engineer. Over the course of his career, Jim was awarded twenty-six patents for his innovative ideas.
The Funeral Mass will be Monday, November 21, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., beginning with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (Faith Formation Building), 3100 Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas with Rev. Bruce Bradley officiating. Reception will immediately follow.
Inurnment will be at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
Many thanks to Fr. Bruce Bradley for the time and attention he gave to Jim at the end of his life. Thank you also to Charlin Hospice, especially Emilynn and Channing, and Rose and Lucy at Silver Leaf Assisted Living for their compassionate care of Jim over the last several months.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy (Dottie) and his sister, Alice Clark. He is also survived by his stepchildren Mary (Bob) Mills, Bill Palmer, Diane (Jeff) Kassing, Dave (Paula) Palmer and Susan (Dave) Pilkington, as well as fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his parents, his first wife, Ethel Brady and his sister, Margaret Nicol.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Building Fund, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75023 or to any pro-life cause.
