Jill Ann (VanSchepen) Weaver

July 23, 1964 — September 9, 2025

Plano

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jill Ann (VanSchepen) Weaver, a beloved wife and soulmate, loving mother, cherished daughter, sister, aunt and treasured friend. Jill passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, in Dallas, Texas.

Born on July 23, 1964, in West Lafayette, Indiana, Jill was the beloved daughter of Jim and Jeanie VanSchepen. She grew up surrounded by the warmth of family, attending Otterbein Elementary School and graduating from Benton Central Jr-Sr High School. She later pursued her education at International Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she honed the administrative skills that supported her through both her professional career and entrepreneurial endeavors.

Jill married the love of her life, Terry Weaver, on June 16, 1984. Together they built a life full of laughter, love, and unwavering support. They raised two wonderful children, Brock and Britni, whom Jill loved with all her heart and considered her greatest accomplishments.

Throughout her life, Jill touched many with her quiet strength, sweet spirit, and boundless generosity. She worked as a secretary at State Farm Insurance, a Teacher’s Assistant at Mother’s Day Out, and an administrative assistant at Anchor Software. Later, she turned her passion for crafting into a thriving Etsy shop, Joining Jill, where her handmade creations found homes in all 50 states and Canada in under 4 years. With over 3,000 sales and more than 1,000 five-star reviews, Jill’s artistry and attention to detail brought joy to people across the country. She delighted in every new order, always greeting the Etsy "cha-ching" notification with genuine excitement.

Jill had a heart of gold and a soul full of kindness. She was deeply involved in her children’s lives and her community—volunteering in the PTA, serving as Band Booster President at Plano East Senior High, chaperoning church youth events, and supporting ministries at Custer Road United Methodist Church. She was always present, always giving.

A true creator, Jill expressed herself through quilting, crafting, cooking, and more. She lovingly gifted hand-made Christmas items to family and close friends each year, treasures that will be held dear for generations. To receive a quilt from Jill was a special honor; she poured hours of care into each stitch, hand-quilting with patience and love. She also enjoyed card games, reading, walking, watching movies, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.

Jill’s love of sports was rooted in her childhood, watching her father play college basketball. She remained a devoted Purdue basketball fan her entire life, never missing a chance to cheer on her Boilermakers. She also helped in her family's auction business growing up, learning the value of hard work and togetherness early on.

Though introverted and soft-spoken, Jill had a fun and feisty side. Her sense of humor, quick wit, and thoughtful nature made everyone around her feel special and seen. Her selflessness and strength were quiet but steady; always showing up, always giving more than she took.

Jill is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Terry Weaver of Plano, Texas; her son Brock Weaver and daughter Britni Weaver, both of The Colony, Texas; her parents Jim and Jeanie VanSchepen of West Lafayette, Indiana; her sister Julie Gaines (Brian) of Allen, Texas; her brother Jeff VanSchepen (Amy) of Bloomington, Illinois; and her mother-in-law Karen Weaver of West Lafayette, Indiana. She is also dearly missed by her nieces and nephews: Justin Gaines, Josh Gaines, Kayla Gaines, Hallie Janes, and Logan Janes, and great-niece and nephew Lily Janes and Bowie Gaines.

She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Kim Weaver, father-in-law Don Weaver, and grandparents Clarence and Millie VanSchepen, Marge VanSchepen, and Dutch and Pat Weaver.
