Jerry Teffeteller

December 1, 1942 — April 17, 2023

Jerry Teffeteller passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023, at his home after a long illness.

Jerry was born in Maryville, Tennessee, in 1942, and moved to Port Lavaca, Texas, with his family as a young child. After high school he entered the Navy and then chose to live in Houston, Texas. He met and married his wife of 54 years there and both of his children were born in Houston. In 1975, the family moved to Richardson, Texas, and then to Plano, Texas, where they lived for 44 years.

Jerry worked in the industrial valve business his entire business life. He loved valves and all the people he worked with, the Port Lavaca sand crabs, the Navy, the Houston cougars, the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. And he loved running and walking with his friends. His close neighborhood friends of 44 years were rare and true friends, and he always knew how lucky he was to have you.

Most of all, he loved his family. His two boys, his wife and his dog, Bo. He had a large extended family of nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law and many greats. He loved you all.

Life goes on but it will never be the same. He will always be missed. If you wish to remember him, he preferred donations be made to Tunnel to Towers, a veteran’s foundation. The family has chosen not to have an organized service. Just have a toast to his memory and wish him well on his next journey.

Jerry is survived by his two sons, Jason Ashley Teffeteller and David Brent Teffeteller, and his wife, Sharon Norman Teffeteller. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chloe Teffeteller Treadaway and James Louis Teffeteller. Both of his older sisters, Betty Jo Phillips and Nellie Foster, have preceded him.
