Jerry Wayne Littleton passed away at The Heritage Assisted Living and Memory Care home in Allen, Texas on September 9, 2021. He was 75 years old.
He was born in Phenix City, Alabama to Jerome and Betty (Sammons). Jerry attended Central High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy upon graduation. He was assigned to his first ship, the USS Oglethorpe, in November 1964 and served during the Vietnam War. Shortly after his
transfer to England in 1972, he met Nurjehan (Nina) Bata where they were married and settled in the village of Pinner. The young couple moved to the Hampton Roads area of Virginia in 1975 with their two sons. Jerry continued to travel with his assigned ships all over the world until his retirement in the late 80’s. Jerry and Nina relocated to Plano, TX in 1992 where he worked alongside the Bata family in the dry cleaning business.
Jerry had many interests, including bass fishing and watching old movies. He was a prolific storyteller with an imaginative sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by Nina, who passed away in 2018.
Jerry is survived by his two sons, Karl and Jason; daughters-in-law, Julie and Amy; three grandchildren, Jaden, Lorelei and Kieran; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Kathy and his sister, Glenda.
The family would like to thank the entire Bata family for their love and support over the years and Nina’s many friends who we continue to cherish.
Jerry’s ashes will be placed beside Nina’s, with full honors, at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211, on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 9:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations, in Jerry’s memory, to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or online at www.DementiaSociety.org/donate .
