Jerry Paul Dodson

September 6, 1947 — July 24, 2020

Jerry Paul Dodson was born September 6, 1947 in Whitesboro, Texas to parents Robert and Edna (Carney) Dodson. Jerry was loyal to his family and friends, fair with everyone else, and cherished his nation.

Jerry volunteered to serve in Vietnam and was awarded several medals. He returned to start multiple businesses and developed into a master builder managing residential and commercial construction projects across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Jerry settled in Plano with his wife of 43 years, Kim, and son, Josh.  He was devoted to their comfort and happiness and he passed away with them by his side on July 24, 2020.

His laughter infected even those who had not heard the joke. His calmness was similarly contagious. His words were simple and sobering. He is impossible to forget

Jerry is survived by his wife, Kimberly Ann Dodson; son, Joshua Robert Dodson; brother, Michael Dodson, mother-in-law, Tommie Harris, brother-in-law, Jackie Harris, sister-in-law, Diesta Harris, niece, Tiffanie Hall (husband, Rusty Hall), grandniece, Priscilla Dodson, grandnephew, Ryan Hall, grandnephew, Radley Hall, great-grandniece, Margo Robertson, nephew, Todd Harris (wife, Rachel Harris), nephew Austin Harris.  He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Vastine Dodson; mother, Edna Mae Dodson; father-in-law, Jack Harris.

Jerry will be laid to rest Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 11:15 A.M. at the Dallas Ft Worth National Cemetery where he will receive national honors for his service in the United States Army.  There will be a visitation at Allen Family Funeral Options from 9:00-10:00 A.M. before going to the cemetery.
