Jerry W. Dickson, age 73, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2021, while at home with his family after losing his battle with cancer.
Jerry was a devoted husband of 52 years, a loving father, and a dedicated grandfather.
Son of Ruby and Angus Dickson, Jr., he was born on August 29, 1947, in Bryan, Texas.
Jerry graduated from Comanche High School in the 1965. While serving in the United States Army, he discovered his passion for numbers. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University and his master’s degree from Texas A&M University, Jerry joined the accounting firm Arthur Andersen & Co. in 1974, and he was promoted to partner in 1984. Later, he opened his own public accounting practice in Dallas, TX. Jerry was an intelligent, hardworking, humble man whose favorite things were attending his grandchildren’s activities, playing golf, and especially taking golf trips with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Elaine Ripley Dickson, son Scott Dickson, daughter Ashley Dickson, granddaughter Allison and grandson Jacob, brothers Angus Dickson, III and wife Pam, Mike Dickson and wife Marva Kay, brother-in-law Terry Ripley, brother-in-law Ken Ripley and wife Geneva, and many cousins. He is preceded in death by parents and his sister, Janet.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
