Jerry Dee Smith

November 12, 1935 — April 14, 2020

Just as each pearl is a gift made by God to be totally unique in color, shape, and luster, jerry dee was created by God to be totally unique.”

Jerry Dee Smith, was the first of four children born in Burkburnett, Texas. on Nov 12, 1935, and died peacefully and without incident in the presence of her loving husband Tim on April 13, 2020.

She was a cheerleader, twirler, voted most popular in senior year, and crowned Baseball queen of west Texas.

After High School she married and moved to Dallas in 1970, and had two beautiful boys; Greg and Donny Armstrong. During this time  she debuted in a national TV ad for TSO optical. She married the love of her life, Tim Smith, in 1978, which brought her two stepchildren; Tammy and Tim Jr. Smith. As the loving mother she was, she is remembered for her unbreakable happy spirit and joyful singing, particularly in waking her children in the mornings. She then had international debut hosting Texas Instruments Board of Directors in Singapore. Her endless and brilliant smile was her trademark.  As a pillar of support to her husband, she was beside him in the development of his company Avazzia. The character of her heart for God always stood first, her love for family was her strength and the size of heart and love for others and family shown in her constant demonstrations of generous giving.

“Jerry Dee’s attitude and commitment to family was as unique as each pearl. She brought love, happiness, and completeness to our lives, just as a strand of pearls forms a complete circle. Her marriage with Tim was bound with the pureness of a gold clasp that binds a strand of pearls.”

Jerry Dee was always helping people, and one of her favorites that was close to her heart was the Ruth And Naomi women's ministry at church. She knew what it was like to be a single mother supporting her two growing, active boys and younger brother just starting out his career in Dallas, helping other single mothers was something near and dear. She knew their struggles and how much even the littlest help could make a big difference at that time in their lives.
