Jennifer Kate Jez

January 11, 1966 — December 20, 2025

Flower Mound, Texas

Jennifer was born in Houston, Texas on January 11, 1966, to Charles Francis Fletcher Jr. and Nora Janice Fletcher. Her grandparents were Gertrude Hale McManus and David McManus of Verda, Louisiana and Bertha Dewitt Fletcher and Charles Francis Fletcher Sr. also of Verda, Louisiana. Though originally born in Houston, Texas, Jennifer spent her early childhood years in Annandale, Virginia and then most of her upbringing was spent in Verda, Louisiana.

Jenn accepted Christ and was baptized as a young girl in the Baptist Church. She kept her faith and relationship with Christ at the center of her whole life. She joined Prestonwood Baptist Church in 1988 and has continued as a faithful and dedicated member of the church ever since.

A passionate lifelong animal lover, Jenn always had furry friends inside and outside of her home. Throughout her life, she found joy and companionship with her many cats, dogs, horses, lizards, birds, and many outdoor adopted pets like turtles, rabbits, opossums, and wild songbirds.

She graduated as salutatorian from Montgomery High School and then started her college career at Northwestern University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She later transferred to Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana to complete her education and earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing with minors in Art and Psychology. Jennifer was the first person in her family to earn a bachelor’s degree!

Fresh out of college, Jennifer moved to Dallas, Texas to begin her professional career, where she started out managing large-scale call centers. Her tenacious work ethic and drive to succeed sent her quickly up the corporate ladder at every company she worked for. She served as a technical program manager at Affiliated Computer Services for many years, before moving on to work at ATX (later SiriusXM) where she had the privilege to work side by side with her sister Amber.

After many years in the corporate world, Jenn decided that she wanted to shift her focus away from climbing the corporate ladder and spend more time with her daughter Lauren, so she left corporate America and opened her own very successful photography studio, A Great Shot, in Flower Mound, Texas. She was very dedicated to keeping her relationship with her daughter at the forefront of all that she did, so Jenn brought Lauren with her into the business. In her eyes, there was nothing that they couldn’t tackle as a pair, so the two went to Rotary events, Chamber of Commerce meetings, bridal shows, and countless photo shoots and special events together throughout the fifteen years that Jenn operated her business.

In more recent years, Jenn worked very hard to earn her Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification which equipped her to begin the final phase of her career serving as a highly respected and sought after project manager at Citi Bank.

Jenn was a woman of many hobbies, which ranged from adrenaline junkie sports like sky diving, skiing, and scuba diving, to more hands-on endeavors like wood relief carving, woodworking and building, and gardening. But her favorite hobby of all was

going on incredible adventures with her daughter, Lauren. Starting from when Lauren was four years old, Jenn would take the two of them on a Mother-Daughter camping trip every year when Lauren would get out of school. This was dedicated time for the two of them to just enjoy being together and soak up quality time out in the peace and beauty of nature. These Mother-Daughter trips continued well beyond Lauren’s schooling years, with the pair going on many adventures, some of which included Washington State, Alaska, Utah National Parks, Boston, Massachusetts, and Charleston, South Carolina.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her beloved father, Charles Fletcher. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her daughter, Lauren McNally and son-in-law Taylor McNally; mother Nora Janice Fletcher; and sisters Amber Fletcher and Juliana Hyland and her husband Tim Hyland, as well as many other family members and beloved friends.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Jenn’s life at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Prestonwood Baptist Church, Plano, Texas. There will be a reception to follow the service.
