Jeffrey (Jeff) Smith

Jeffrey (Jeff) William Smith was born February 16, 1960 in Wichita, Kansas to parents Frank and Gwenda (Ring) Smith.

Jeff graduated Shawnee Mission West High School in 1978. He played baseball, basketball, and was involved in many different activities. After high school, he attended Wheaton College in Illinois and graduated in 1981. He then continued his education at Princeton Seminary School. During his time at Princeton, he was victim to a tragic car accident that left him paralyzed at age 21. Even in such a tragedy, Jeff trusted God’s plan and continued to rejoice in knowing that He is good. Jeff has been a testimony to all who knew him from his faithfulness and trust in the Lord.

Ever since the accident, he was taken care of by his loving parents Frank and Gwen Smith. He spent the rest of his years growing in his knowledge of God, loving his friends and family well, and serving as a greeter at his local church. We will never forget his radiant smile and joyful laugh. Jeff will always be remembered by his friends and family members as an avid reader, a KU basketball fan, and most importantly a servant of Christ.

He is survived by his parents Frank & Gwen Smith, brother and sister in law, Greg & Danielle Smith, nieces, Mackenzie (Luke Cashman), Shelby (Noah Williams) and Gage Smith, along with a large, extended family that will miss him dearly.”

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Jeff's life Monday, July 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Church Plano, 3301 Preston Rd., Plano, Texas.

Jeff will be laid to rest at Plano Mutual Cemetery.
