Jean Devin Watros

May 1, 1933 — November 21, 2023

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jean Devin Watros on November 21, 2023, at the age of 90. Born on May 1, 1933 in Arcade, New York to James Jervis Devin and Nadyne Wilson Devin, Jean's life was a melody of love, kindness, and laughter.

Jean, a resident of Plano, Texas since 1988, originally hailed from New York. She was a woman of many passions, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life — reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and the soothing embrace of music.

A graduate of Ithaca College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, Jean dedicated her career to nurturing young minds through the gift of music. She was not only a teacher but a volunteer, Eucharistic Minister, and a crossword puzzle genius. Her vibrant spirit echoed through the halls of Legacy at Willow Bend, where she was an enthusiastic participant.

Jean's warm smile, kind words, and selflessness endeared her to everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will echo through the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Jean is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Charles, and their four children: Anne Arnold, Mary Watros, David Watros, and Robert Watros. Cherishing her memory are their spouses: John Arnold, Laura Lustbader, Alison Watros, and her former daughter-in-law Louise Watros, as well as six grandchildren: Craig Arnold, Collette Arnold, Kent Arnold, Dalton Watros, Garrett Watros, and Hayden Watros.

She joins her parents, Jervis and Nadyne Devin, and siblings Gordon, Eileen, Marion, Leo, and Ann in eternal peace. Jean's passing is mourned by numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

A funeral service in celebration of Jean's life will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023.
