Jaqueline "Jackie" Joyce Clark

Jacqueline Joyce “Jackie” (Leonard) Clark passed away on August 20, 2019 at Fountain View Memory Care where she had been a patient for several months.  Jackie was born June 9, 1930 in Lincoln, Illinois to George and Elizabeth English Leonard.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Patricia.

She attended Illinois Wesleyan in Normal, Illinois and Business College where she attained a business and secretarial degree.  She was employed as a secretary at the University of Illinois Health Center where she met and fell in love with Bill Clark.  They were married in 1955 and raised 3 children.  In 1980, they moved from Galesburg, Illinois to Plano, Texas where they resided for 29 years before moving to Highland Springs in Dallas.

They were a part of the founding members of the Covenant Sunday School Class since the beginning of Custer Road United Methodist Church in 1980.  She was a dedicated volunteer in the church office for over 30 years.  Once her kids were older she became a part of the PISD system; first as a volunteer in the library and then as an employee with the Wilson Middle School cafeteria team.  Her smile and hard work was always appreciated by her coworkers, family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William (Bill) Clark; children Stephen B. Clark (Dianne) of Wolfe City, Texas, Cynthia Wright (Randy) of Plano, Texas, and Kathryn Fix (Bill) of Parker, Texas; 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and the newest great great granddaughter plus other beloved family members and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to Custer Road Friday NITE Friends at CRUMC, 6601 Custer Road, Plano, TX 75023.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at 10:00 AM at Custer Road United Methodist Church, 6601 Custer Road, Plano, Texas 75023. Everyone is welcome to join the family.
