Janet Josephine Sparks Gurba

March 23, 1950 — April 27, 2018

Janet Josephine (née Sparks) Wilgus Gurba, was born March 23, 1950 at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas to parents Thomas and Helen (Henson) Sparks.  She passed away April 27, 2018 in McKinney, Texas.

Always smiling and an infectious laugh. Janet was always full of joy regardless of what life threw her way. Nothing in life was more important to her than family and her pets who were family. Remey short for Remington and Sassy were just two more kids with 4 legs that were part of the family. She met her husband Bob (Robert) in July of 2007 through a website, ‘True Beginnings’. They had their first date on
July 4 th , at On the Border restaurant. It was love from that first date. On September 23rd, 2007 they married in Plano, Texas.

She adored her new family. Their adventures took them to live various places around Texas. She loved going to Canada to visit and spend time with her family whenever they had the chance.

Janet is survived by husband Robert Willam Gurba, sister Janice Shipwash and her husband Geno,
step children, Pamela Northam and her husband Craig, Terence Gurba and his wife Jillian,
grandchildren, Cody Johnston, Toby Johnston, Maven Gurba, Dasha Gurba & Winnie Gurba
great granddaughter. Marlee Johnston.  Janet is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Dolan Sparks, mother, Helen Fern Olson Ball, son, Kevin Thomas Johnston, siblings, Thomas Sparks and Randy Sparks.

The family will receive friends for a
visitation Thursday May 3, 2017, 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options.  Janet will be laid to rest Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas 75243.
