Jan Mcgath

Janet (Jan) McGath was born December 1, 1950 in Lawrence, Kansas to parents William and Mabel (Morris) Toman.

She lived in Kansas City until her early 20’s and then moved to Texas and started her career of 32 years with the Department of Health and Human Services. Ashley, her “favorite” daughter, was born in August of 1978. Jan married her best friend and love, Jay, in November of 1984. She became a Grandma in 2007 when Logan was born and was blessed with another grandson, Bryson, in 2010. She loved traveling and going to movies with Jay, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.

Jan was a deeply loved and devoted wife, mom, and grandma. Her faith in Jesus was strong and never wavered. She was cherished and loved by everyone who knew her. Her laughter and smile could light up any room. She had endless compassion and love that she shared freely. She will be greatly missed but we are so thankful that she is dancing and singing with her Lord and Savior in Heaven.

Jan is survived by her loving and devoted husband Jay McGath, daughter Ashley Reynolds and her husband Todd, grandsons Logan and Bryson Reynolds, sister Sue Terrell and her husband Jerry, nephews Don Terrell and Ron Terrell and their families.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 4:30-6:30 P.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options. A celebration of Jan’s life will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options, with Dr. Gene Getz officiating. Jan will be laid to rest following the service at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas.
