James (Jim) K Brown

December 18, 1939 — August 27, 2017

James (Jim) K. Brown was born December 18, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri to parents Harold and Pauline Brown. He graduated from Raytown High School and obtained a B.S. at William Jewell College. Jim was proud to have earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Jim was a sales representative for various companies, primarily in the apparel industry, for over 50 years. He enjoyed all the people he worked with and met during his career. Jim could always be seen supporting his grandchildren in their many activities. Playing golf, fishing, bridge, and dominoes were things he loved to do with family and friends. He treasured the time spent with family at the Lake of the Ozarks

Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna Brown, daughter Darcey Carter and her husband Josh, son Mark Brown and his wife Julie, grandchildren Jace and Cole Carter and Meredith and Bridget Brown. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Shirley Shaffer and her husband Don, nieces and nephews Sara Myers, Sydne Stansberry and her husband Ed, and Tom Shaffer and his wife Jody and their families.

Jim died peacefully on August 27th, 2017 after an extended illness. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Custer Road United Methodist Church, 6601 Custer Road, Plano, Texas. Services officiated by Rev. Jack Gibson.
