Jake Dillon Kanatzar

November 6, 2001 — May 12, 2019

Jake Dillon Kanatzar was born on November 6, 2001.  He passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the age of 17.  His parents are Sabre Sabo and Ric Kanatzar, of Plano.

Jake attended Plano West High School where he was a member of the German Club and was an award winning art student.  Jake had many hobbies, one of which was art. The love of art quickly gained him awards and accolades from his peers for his work and artistic abilities. Recently, the electric guitar became an obsession and of course, impressed those around him at how quickly he became a self-taught musician.

However, his main love was for his 71 Ford Torino. Because it came to him in “partially” working order, he set his sights on fixing it up and making it into the hot rod that he imagined. One of the first “fixes” was the Dixie Horn that he added to annoy all of his friends and neighbors. It was a surprise purchase from his mom and dad, and one that he cherished immensely.

Another skill Jake was talented at was computers. He built his computer, his dad’s computer and anyone else that needed help in this endeavor. Another passion that was discovered was a love for all things classic. This included reading old books with yellowed pages, classic rock, including some of the greats such as Styx, Cheap Trick, Motley Crue and Survivor. One other secret that he didn’t necessarily want to be known was that he was a rule follower.  A simple example of this is; he would not even break a traffic rule to make an illegal turn to follow his mother. He was an incredible young man and his spirit will be truly missed by everyone that knew him.

Jake is survived by his family and friends as follows;  his Parents Ric Kanatzar and Sabre Sabo; Grandparents Julie and Larry Kanatzar; Grandmother Sandy McCallister; Uncles Brian Kanatzar and Lacy Killian; Aunts Kelly Oltmann and Amy Kanatzar; Cousins Kelsey, Macy, Abby and Laisha and many other family members and close friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Allen Family Funeral Options, 2112 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas officiated by the Reverend Father George Henninger and including soloist Maddi Tripp accompanied by Jean Ashburner.

Do not let your hearts be troubled.  You believe in God; believe also in me.  My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

John 14:1-3

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:4
