Jacob Stafford

January 23, 2001 — February 3, 2023

Jacob Ryan Stafford, 22, son of Ralph and Janet Stafford of Plano, Texas died on February 3, 2023, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital of Plano as a result of complications from pneumonia.

Jacob was born in Plano, Texas on January 23, 2001, and attended Wells Elementary, Vines High School and Plano Senior High. A love of sports was apparent at an early age as he began playing soccer when he was 4. By elementary school, baseball had replaced soccer as his favorite sport, and he played first and second base as well as pitcher. He played baseball for PSA Competitive division, USSSA Tournaments, middle school, high school, and select teams. He played most of his years with one team, the NTX Rangers.  They were well known and feared around Dallas-Ft. Worth and surrounding areas. They won several PSA league championships as well as multiple tournament championships. He was then asked to join the Mongrels select baseball organization which traveled and played the best of the best. First year of high school he made the Plano Wildcats Baseball Team and that is where he ended his baseball journey.

He shared his dad’s love of OU football and the outdoors and was happiest spending weekends hunting and fishing with family and friends at Fisher Ranch deer lease. He was an excellent shot and killed his first deer at the age of 6. He was equally at home fishing on area lakes.

After high school, he attended Collin County Community College and hoped to become an architect. Family members will miss his frequent hugs as well as the love from family pets, his dogs Lilly and Boomer, and cats Kitten, Peso, and Miko.

Jacob is survived by his parents Ralph and Janet Stafford; sister Brooke Stafford; grandmothers Terrie Stafford and Thalia “Liz” Oliphant; aunts, Tina Stafford and Blythe Campbell; and uncle, Jarrod Campbell; cousins Cody Loving, Elyssa Ullmann, Kaelyn Campbell and McKenna Campbell; and his longtime friend, Ashley O’Neil. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, J.D. Stafford and John Oliphant, and Uncle Brian Stafford.

There will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Allen Family Funeral Options officiated by Pastor Robert Matthews.  The family will receive friends at a brief reception following the service.
