Iva Rose Newnam

March 18, 1928 — October 10, 2020

I va Rose Newnam was born March 18, 1928 in Dallas Texas to parents Charlie and Opal (Michaux) Moore.  Our beloved Mom (Mimi) died on October 10, 2020.

She grew up in Oak Cliff, graduated from Sunset High School and attended Oak Cliff Christian Church.  After graduation she began working at the Dallas Morning News, where she met her future husband, Richard.  They were married over 60 years.

Iva was a talented artist who enjoyed painting birds, flowers and working in the garden.  She taught pre-school Sunday School and worked with the Girl Scouts.

She will be forever cherished and remembered by her daughters Cynthia Davis(Kevin) and Kimberly Kearns and her husband John; grandchildren Kristin Baker, Mark Jordan, Brandon, and Tony Kearns; great-granddaughters Sadie and Alexa Baker.  She will be missed by her sister Evelyn, many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Drew Newnam; parents Charlie and Opal Moore; sisters Doris, Martha; brother Charlie.

Iva will be laid to rest with her husband at a graveside service Friday, October 23, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.
