Israel Flores-Arbolay was born on February 8, 1964, in San Juan, Puerto Rico to his parents Israel Flores Rodriguez and Elsie Arbolay Russi. His siblings are Elsie W. Flores-Arbolay and David G. Flores-Arbolay. He was taken to be with his Lord and Savior on October 16, 2026, while on a business trip in Broomfield, Colorado.
Israel was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and raised in Ponce and Caguas, Puerto Rico. He graduated from Colegio San Jose in Caguas in 1982. He attended the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1988. He went on to study at Webster University in Missouri where he graduated in 1993 with a master’s in business and wrote two published theses.
He met his wife Marcella Day Flores-Arbolay on a cold February day in a grocery store while working an internship at Wright Patterson Air Force base. They married in April of 1989.
Israel was a good steward of his family and work. During his college career, he worked hard to learn as much as he could by interning at Wright Patterson Air force base in Ohio. After graduating, he worked for NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas from 1987-1989. Once he married, he and his wife moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he worked for McDonald Douglas from 1989-1994, then The Boeing Company from 1994-1999 where he contributed to the design of the F-15, F-18, and stealth fighter aircrafts.
While in Missouri, Israel and Marcella welcomed their first two children Israel David in 1993 and Micaela Shain in 1995. Always thinking of what’s best for his family, Israel changed jobs in 1999 to work for Dassault Systems and moved the family to North Carolina. It was during their time in North Carolina that Israel and Marcella welcomed their third child Grace Marie in 2005.
Israel has worked at Dassault Systems for 28 years and has worked for the branches of ENOVIA, CATIA, and SOLIDWORKS. He also worked as a pre-sales engineer for aerospace companies, license compliance mediator for the different branches of Dassault, and lastly, Senior Partner Sales Manager for the SOLIDWORKS brand. While working for this company, Israel and Marcella moved their family to Dallas, Texas for work and to be close to family.
Israel always led with the will of the Lord in mind. He served as a layman at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Missouri and Ascension Lutheran Church in North Carolina. He, also, served as Prayer Coordinator and teacher for his Life Group at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.
Israel loved to fly and travel. He was actively pursuing a pilot license before his passing with the dream to help people fly to doctors out of their city. Israel always enjoyed traveling to new and old places. He shared his travels with his wife and children. His favorite trip that he mentioned often was the trip he and Marcella took to Greece and Israel where they were both baptized in the Jordan River.
Israel is survived by his children Israel David, Micaela Shain, and Grace Marie, as well as his father, mother, sister and her family, and brother. He was preceded in death by his wife Marcella Day Flores-Arbolay, his uncle’s Francisco Ramirez Acosta, Hector Ivan Rivera, Hernan Flores Rodriguez, his aunt Orquidea Arbolay Russi, and his grandparents Juan Flores Gutierrez, Maria Antonia Rodriguez, Francisco Arbolay Massari, and Victoria Russi Dilan.
We are thankful for the Allen Family Funeral Options for the care, comfort, and support they have compassionately given Israel and our family. We are also grateful for Prestonwood as our church home giving us comfort, kindness, and hospitality.
Lastly, the Flores-Arbolay Family would like to thank our community who has helped and supported Israel and our family throughout the years. We covet your prayers and support in the coming days. And we look forward to when we will be together forever in heaven, praising the Lord with our dad and mom. In Mom’s favorite phrase, “Go in peace, and serve the Lord,” and with Dad’s favorite phrase, “Godspeed.” Rest in peace, Daddy.
There will be a funeral service to celebrate Israel’s life at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Fath Chapel, Prestonwood Baptist Church, Plano, Texas.
