Isaiah Langston Taylor

October 9, 2020 — September 28, 2021

I’se: I am,I have

Isaiah Langston Taylor was born on this day October 9, 2020, in Little Rock, Arkansas to parents, Terrance and Sylvandrea Taylor.

Before Ise was born, we knew he was going to be special to us. In the womb, he was diagnosed with Down Syndrome and VSD of the heart. When Ise came into this world he was premature, born at 31 weeks and a few days, only weighing 2lbs 12oz… “Tiny but Mighty”.

After being in the NICU at UAMS for a little over two months, he was transferred to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. At around 3 months, he had no swallow reflex which caused a lot of acid on his stomach. Due to this, he had his first major surgery, a G-tube and a Nissen. He was now able to get his proper nutrition but he was still struggling to breath. His VSD has now gone away and he is diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension.  In the meantime, we are loving on him, looking at him, taking pictures of him, and we are having long conversations to and from the hospital about Ise. When he was about 3 months, we went back and forth for about a month about his size.  He looked like he had the traits of a dwarf. As the doctors were focusing on his lungs, they not only noticed that his lungs were small but his thorax was as well. After another genetic test, we were right, he had achondroplasia (dwarfism). “Tiny but Mighty”. He was one of a handful of people with a diagnosis of both Downs and Dwarfism. With those diagnoses and having a lung disease he was now in a fight, fighting just to breath. Ise had the will to fight, to breath, to not give up. We hoped that all he needed was time, so he was placed on steroids with the hope that his lungs would grow, with many uphill battles and many days that looked promising, the steroids and nasal air just wasn't enough. Again, he's just fighting to breathe, needing more time. With more time being needed, we decided to have him trached to give his lungs more support and hopefully more time. However, with everything done medically possible, time was just not on our side.

On September 28,2021 God told Mighty Ise, “Job well done, now rest my son”, and around 2:00 p.m. he took his last breath.

Ise was loved by his parents, Terrance and Sylvandrea Taylor; brothers, Terrance Jr., Terrell, Yaseer, Joseph, Savion, Chance and Sekani; sisters, Dahnya, Tiffany, Steffany, Jadynn, and Madison; grandparents; a niece and nephew; aunts and uncles; many cousins and other loved ones.

Ise was loved….
