Howard Thomas

Howard Lee Thomas, 87 passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, at his residence in Plano.  He was born September 12, 1935, in Corsicana to parents Sankey and Goldie (Knotts) Reading Thomas.

Howard was a 1953 graduate of Corsicana High School.  He attended Baylor University after graduating from Corsicana. Howard had been President of Mobil Oil Retirement Committee and enjoyed sharing his experience and stories.  He retired from Mobil Oil Corporation after 39 years of service.

Before he became ill, he enjoyed playing golf, going to the beach and traveling to Peru with his wife.

Howard is survived by his wife Giovanna Velazquez; son Rodney Thomas and his wife, Tonya; daughter Jana Thomas Pulaski; stepdaughters Roxanne Villafuerte, Kuky Faison and her husband Calvin, Pia Tejeda and her husband Claude; granddaughters, Kaylee Pulaski Cano and her husband Jordan, Kendall Pulaski, Tori Thomas, Frida Villafuerte, Luciana Villafuerte, Isabella Tejeda; grandsons Cole Pulaski, and Micah Faison, and numerous extended family members.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Sankey Thomas and Goldie Reading Thomas, his stepfather Robert Reading and son Ronald Thomas.

There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the funeral service that begins at 9:00 a.m. and followed by the service at 10:00 at Allen Family Funeral Options on Friday, March 24, 2023, officiated by Pastor Robert Matthews. Howard will be laid to rest at Hamilton Beeman Cemetery in Corsicana, Texas.
