Helen Marie Piter

Helen Marie (Billiot) Piter, resident of Allen, Texas, formerly of The Woodlands, Texas, was born August 22, 1941 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Lovince and Viola Billiot and entered into eternal rest in Plano, Texas on June 22, 2018.

Marie grew up in Marrero, Louisiana, a suburb of New Orleans, with several brothers and sisters. In 1964, she met the love of her life, Steve Piter, who had recently relocated from Oklahoma to the New Orleans area and they married on January 14, 1967 in Marrero at Marie’s home parish. For the following few years, they lived in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas and welcomed 2 daughters, Denise and Michele, during those years. In late 1974, they settled in Bixby, Oklahoma where they raised their young daughters. In 1987, they moved to Houston where they lived until both their daughters were in college.

In the 1990’s, Steve and Marie lived an exciting life and were able to spend time living in locations across the globe where Steve’s work took them. In 1999, Steve and Marie settled in The Woodlands, Texas where they lived until recently. In her home in The Woodlands, Marie was able to take full advantage of her green thumb and she took great pleasure in watching her flowers and landscaping flourish.

Marie is survived by her husband, Steve Piter; daughters; Denise Agee and Michele Strain (Mark); grandchildren; Wes Agee, Kyle Agee, Wyatt Agee, Travis Agee, Jackie Strain, Nickie Strain and Alex Strain; sister, Rita Billiot; brother, Norman Billiot and her niece, Irene Matherne.

Marie was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a loving friend and made friends with everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She will be remembered fondly and missed by all.

A rosary will be said at 6:00PM on Friday, July 13, 2018, at St Jude Catholic Church, 1515 N Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas 75002. A Memorial mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 14, 2018, also at St. Jude Catholic Church.
