Hector Decena, M.D.

January 2, 1925 — November 20, 2017

Hector R. Decena, M.D. (Retired), of Plano, Texas was called home by his Heavenly Father on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Baybrooke Village Care and Rehab Center in McKinney, Texas, at the age of 92 years.  He was born January 2, 1925 in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines to the late Jose and Pacencia (Rubio) Decena.  Hector married Lily Barber on June 18, 1955. Hector worked as a Physician, as an Internist and later a Psychiatrist. Hector was a quiet man, but was also amusing in his own right.  He was caring and giving, and had a great understanding of people.  Surviving are his wife (Lily); three children, Harvey (Honeylett); Leslie (Karen); and Harold (Gary); two grandchildren, Chelsea (Joshua); and Whitney; one great granddaughter, Olive. Also surviving is a sister, Josefina and many more nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.  A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas.  Hector will be laid to rest at the St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Columbarium, following the mass.  A reception will be held at the parish hall following the interment.  If desired, contributions may be made in Hector’s name to the charity of your choice.
