Hai Nguyen

July 27, 1950 — March 25, 2025

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Hai Nguyen, 74, on March 25, 2025. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with heart failure. Though his journey has ended, his legacy of kindness, strength, and love will live on in all who knew him.

Born in Hanoi, Vietnam, to Thanh Kim Nguyen and Toan Thi Le, Hai was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Like many who left Vietnam, he rebuilt his life, time and time again with resilience, determination, and an unshakable faith that carried him through every challenge.

Growing up in Saigon, Hai learned the value of hard work from his entrepreneurial mother. While attending school, he assisted in her jewelry and clothing businesses. After graduating, he served in the Republic of Vietnam Air Force for five years, which instilled in him lifelong discipline and perseverance.

In 1978, Hai left Vietnam and found refuge in Fort Worth, Texas, where he met Mo Nguyen at the St. George Church choir. They married on February 14, 1983, and spent 41 wonderful years together, building a life filled with love, family, and unwavering support.

Determined to provide for his family, Hai embraced his entrepreneurial spirit and founded Total Value Cleaners, which he owned and operated for over 20 years. He took immense pride in his work and deeply valued and appreciated the dedication of those around him.

Hai’s infectious smile, quick wit, and larger-than-life personality made everyone feel welcome. He had a natural ability to turn strangers into friends, blending humor and storytelling into every conversation. A true adventurer, he traveled extensively but always found his way back to the beach, his favorite place to be. When he wasn’t exploring the world, he could often be found at a coffee shop, deep in conversation with friends, or in the kitchen, cooking for his grandchildren and making sure they never left the table hungry.

Hai was preceded in death by his parents, Thanh Kim Nguyen and Toan Thi Le, and his sisters, Bich Lien and Hong Hanh.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mo Nguyen. His children: Huy and Annie Nguyen; Khanh and Truong Nguyen; Melissa and Christian Postier; Alex and Lauren Nguyen. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren. Hai also leaves behind his cherished siblings and their partners: Minh Nguyen; Vinh and Van Nguyen; Oanh and My Nguyen; Yen and Son Le; Van and Dan Nguyen; Mai and Dong Vo; Jon and Darrin Rowland Nguyen; and Tiffany Saenger.

Hai’s life was defined by resilience, generosity, and love. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories and stories shared by those who knew and loved him.
