Gregg Dejong

With the heaviest of hearts, we say goodbye to Gregg deJong, known to many as a wonderful father, friend, brother, son, uncle and the role he cherished most, Papop. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He rarely missed a game or event and had such a special relationship with each one of them.

He had the ability to make any stranger feel like an old friend. He loved to cook and care for others. Always with a listening ear he was compassionate and gave freely. He loved the lake where he often spent time with family, he had impeccable taste in music, unwavering grit and the very best sense of humor.

Gregg was welcomed by his cherished mother, Lee deJong in Heaven. He is remembered by his father, Denis deJong. Daughter Leesa and husband Brian Thornhill. Son Scott and wife Jessica deJong and his six deeply adored grandchildren - Greyson, Emory, Bowen, Zane, Brinlee and Nova. As well as his siblings Marc, Scott, Denis and Marianne deJong , nieces, nephews, and many more family members and friends he loved dearly.

Gregg leaves behind a legacy of love, honesty and generosity that will continue through the generations. We will miss him forever. But as we come together to celebrate his life, let us remember the good times we had, the love he gave and the laughter we shared. His memory will  live on eternally.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 10:00am at Allen Family Funeral Options. Following the memorial service a celebration of life will be held at Stix 301 Eldorado Pkwy. #100 Mckinney, Tx 75069 at 12:00pm.
