Gary Wood

Gary Don Wood was born on October 2, 1958 and passed away on July 2, 2018. He was born and raised in Big Spring, Texas to parents Donald Duard Wood and Joyce Estelle Wilson. Gary graduated from North Texas State University with B.A. in Business Administration and n Music. He was endowed with music talents, namely with guitar and piano. He has a wide range hobbies preferring photography, astronomy, biking, wood turning, spray painting, train building, drone, helicopter, model plane and kite flying.

Gary was a dedicated, conscientious worker and totally committed to his career. He is loved and appreciated by those who worked with him.

He is survived by his wife, Emily; sister, Donna Ferry (Raymond); nephew, Don Ferry; great nephew, Grant Ferry; aunt, Sue Hunt and cousins who loved him. He is also survived by Emily’s family members including her sisters, Betty Tan, Mary Chia (Alan), Yvonne Sim (Ronnie), Jennifer Wee, Charmaine MacKenzie (George); sister-in law, Ben Tan; nieces and nephews, Edwin Tan, Isabella Tan, Paul Chia, Lawrence Chia, Ade Chia, Gerina Chia, Stephanie Sim, Eugene Wee, Kevin Wee, Carmen MacKenzie and Christabelle MacKenzie; aunts, Aunt Yeo and Mary Taye and many cousins.

The family will receive friends on Friday July 6, 2018 from 5:00-7:00pm at Allen Family Funeral Options, 2120 W Spring creek Pkwy. Ste.E Plano, Texas, 75023. A Memorial Service is planned from 5:45 – 6:15pm. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Patton, Raymond Lam, Joe Skarupinski, Gary Bower, Christ Stout, Ed Oradinez, Christ Plant and McFarlane Mukandi.

The following are words from Gary’s wife, Emily:

Gary has been a loving husband for more than 20 years and he has never flinched with his commitment to our marriage and has always been there for me. I will always love and miss him and no words can expressed my deep sadness. He will live eternally in my heart and I look forward to seeing him in the sweet by and by where no moth and sicknesses can destroy. I will miss you my darling husband and we shall meet again in the beauty of God’s presence.
