Gary James Weaver, 73 years old, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 13, 2026. Gary was born in Lebanon Missouri on February 17, 1953, to Joyce Arlene Weaver and Carl James Weaver.
Gary attended and graduated from Lebanon High School class of 1971. He grew up in the car business and continued this throughout his life. He was happily married to his high‑school sweetheart for 54 years, a love that remained steady and admired by everyone who knew them.
His faith guided every part of his life — he loved the Lord deeply and never missed an opportunity to share the gospel with others. He had a lifelong passion for cars: hot rods, car shows, working on engines, and even racing stock cars brought him pure joy. Music was another part of his soul; he loved playing guitar and spent some of his early years performing in a band.
Above all, he loved his family, and his grandchildren were truly his world. He was known to us as Gary, Jake, Dad, and Pops. And when it came to football, he was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan — cheering for the Chiefs too, but only when they weren’t playing his Cowboys.
Gary is survived by his wife Glenda Weaver; children Natalie Schurer, Aaron Weaver and wife Amy, Sabi Hampton and husband Lionel; grandchildren Charlie Schurer and wife Brianna, Nathan Scherer and fiancé Sara Howard, Adair and Liam Weaver, Langston and Lawyer Hampton; siblings Carl Weaver, Jr., Janine Gerfers and husband Gary; brothers and sisters in law Judy and Jerry Vaughan, Donna and Donnie West, Randy and Heidi Bacon, Ralph Fort and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2026, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
There will be a funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Hunters Glen Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Atchley officiating.
Gary will be laid to rest at Wear Cemetery, Prosper, Texas.
