Gary Ira Bohn

Gary Ira Bohn of Plano, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 24, 2018. He was 77 years old.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife Mardi, daughter Leslie Baugh and her husband Jack of Peoria, Illinois, and son Gregory Bohn and his wife Amy of Plano, Texas, grandchildren Dylan and Rachel, step-grandchildren Brian and Michael, and sister Karen Anzelc and her husband Jack of Peoria, Arizona. He was preceded in death by sister Deena Cigoy and parents Doris and Albert Bohn.

Gary was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 11, 1941, and grew up in Euclid, Ohio, where he graduated from Euclid High School. He continued his education at Cleveland State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. Gary also did graduate work at the University of New Mexico and Case Western Reserve. He played both basketball and baseball in college and later played minor league baseball.

Before beginning his career in business, Gary was selected to serve in the Peace Corp. He also served in the United States Army in military intelligence.

As a business professional, Gary held a variety of managerial positions in marketing and business planning in both small and large technology companies including Xerox and Northern Telecom. One of Gary’s greatest business achievements was rising to the position of vice president at the age of 35.

His life, however, was much more than a series of accomplishments and events. Gary’s Jewish heritage and his belief in Jesus gave him tremendous insight into the meaning of the Bible, which he shared in Bible studies throughout the years.  His fervent search for biblical knowledge and his dedication to teaching led to his ordination as a minister of the gospel in 2003.  Gary’s love of humanity led him to a life of service, first to his wife and children and then to those in need.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, December 30, 2018 at Allen Family Funeral Options.
