Frances Ann Mcqueen

Frances McQueen current resident of Plano and recent resident of San Angelo passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Frances was born in Greencastle Indiana to Mabeth Hanna and Lee Dodge on May 20, 1929. She studied at Texas Tech with a major in zoology. She met Don McQueen in college, and they married in 1950.  When their kids were out of grade school, Frances got an additional degree and worked as a local librarian. They raised a family for many years in California, then retired to San Angelo, near where Donald grew up.

In the 1970s she and Donald both obtained a private pilot’s license, and once the kids were out of the house, they flew all around the United States in their Cherokee Arrow.

Frances is survived by her son Jim McQueen and wife Nancy; daughter Susan McQueen; two grandsons Sean McQueen and his wife Beth, and Scott McQueen; and sister-in-law Leona Hufstutler. She is preceded in death by her husband in 2019 and her parents.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options in Plano, Texas.
