It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Enza Favara, on December 24, 2024. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her radiant spirit, Italian flair, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Enza was born in Palermo, Sicily, a child growing up during WWII, married at age 16, moved to the United States at 17, learned a new language, bore two daughters all by her 24th birthday. Widowed at the young age of 35, Enza moved with her daughters back to Italy in 1972 and worked for the United States Navy Exchange in Naples for 20+ years. Upon retiring in 1996, she returned to the United States to live with her daughters and grandchildren.
Enza embodied warmth and generosity, finding her greatest joy in caring for others. Whether she was preparing a lovingly crafted home-cooked meal or offering wisdom, her presence was a source of comfort and love. Her kitchen was a sanctuary, where traditions were kept alive and countless memories were made.
Enza was very devoted and loved her family. Her daughters and grandchildren were the light of her life. She had a strong spirit and energy and always encouraged her family to take care of one another.
A woman of deep Catholic faith, Enza drew strength and guidance from her beliefs, which were a cornerstone of her life. Her sense of humor, elegance, and unique Italian charm brought joy to every gathering and enriched countless lives.
