Elmo (Pete) Pearce Lee, Iii

Elmo (Pete) Pearce Lee, III was born October 3, 1937, in Shreveport, Louisiana to parents Elmo Pearce Lee, II and Virginia Miller Lee.  It is with heavy hearts that we announce his passing on November 14, 2023, at the age of 86.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He married his first wife, Mildred Lee, and had three children, Stephen Lee and his wife Angie, Katherine Robinson, and Mardie Griffing.  In 1989, Pete moved to Dallas and met his current wife, Robin, in 1992.  He is also survived by his sisters Virginia Lee and Maribeth Barnes; was stepfather to John Fowler and his wife Tori.  He had seven grandchildren Jessica, Kelsey, Christian, Rachel, Joshus, Michael, Lilly and two great grandchildren Hartwell and Sewell, all of whom he adored.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother David Lee and stepson Michael Fowler.

Pete went to Louisiana Tech and received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and biology and learned to fly.  He then went on to receive his master’s degree in food technology from LSU.  After completing his masters, he went to work for Kellogg’s in Battle Creek, Michigan.  Years later he returned to Shreveport and went to work for Boots Pharmaceutical.  In Dallas, he was a manager for a call center with over 100 employees. Lastly, he taught school at Prince of Peace Catholic School in Plano.

Pete was an adventurous man and enjoyed the outdoors.  Pete and Robin loved to travel domestically and abroad and enjoyed camping in many state and national parks.  They spent many summers in Angel Fire, New Mexico where they owned a condo.  The entire family enjoyed their visits in Angel Fire.

Pete touched the lives of many through his kindness, generosity, and wisdom; and he will be sorely missed but will live in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Pete’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Allen Family Funeral Options with Pastor David Blaylock officiating.

There will be a reception to follow the service.
