Edward (Eddie) Brook, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on February 14th, 2019 in Rockwall, Texas with his wife and daughters by his side. Eddie was born to Edward Joseph Brook and Eva Anderson Brook on November 26th, 1938 in Los Angeles, California.
He graduated from Pascal High School in 1957 and was a graduate of Texas A&M Commerce and the South West Graduate School of Banking at SMU. Eddie's proudest educational achievement was that he was an alumni of the TCU Ranch Management Program. Son, Chris, and grandson, Ryan, followed suit and the three are one of the few families to be third generation Ranch Management graduates.
Eddie pursued his dream of owning a cattle ranch shortly after college graduation. This 16 year investment of his time and talents at Brook Stock Farm in Roxton, Texas provided a memorable livelihood. With ranch life, the necessary duties yielded many opportunities to mentor, not only his own children in the value of hard work, but also his three nephews: Charles, Brook and John Boswell. In 1978, necessary career changes took him from ranching to the business world. He began his banking industry in Paris, Texas at City National Bank utilizing his background in agriculture, cattle and business. He completed his successful career as Sr. Vice President, City National Bank of Winnsboro. Through the course of 30 plus years in the field, he helped many people reach for and fulfill their goals and livelihood.
In 1978, he met and fell in love with Ada Gail Evans; they were married on July 14th, 1979. The pair danced through life enjoying travel, adventures and many celebrations with family and friends. From a simple joy ride on a country road to a dream vacation theirs was a journey of love. They were blessed to have found true love and be able to share their lives in joy and sorrow for over 40 years.
After retiring in 2004, the couple moved to Rockwall, Texas. It is there that they met the J.E. Wilson Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church Rockwall. The tight knit group shared celebrations and laughter, along with travel adventures and community service activities. They often lifted one another up in prayer through trials and tribulations. This group of extraordinary individuals have been a true blessing to Eddie and Ada Gail.
Eddie Brook also enthusiastically served as a member of the Masons (for over 50 years), Hella Shrine, Rotary, the Lake Ray Hubbard Carving Club, and The First Methodist Church Rockwall.
As a true patriot, Eddie proudly served his country in the Army from August of 1961 to December of 1966.
Cowboy, banker, carver, companion Eddie left an indelible imprint on the world and those around him; he will be deeply missed.
