Douglas (Doug) Reese was born February 11, 1965 in Dallas, Texas to parents Jack and Louise (Silliman) Reese. He passed away in his sleep, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He left this world with his head held high, and a great love for his sons and friends.
Doug was a graduate of Trinity Christian Academy and the University of Mississippi. He leaves his family and a wonderful group of friends with many stories, memes and memories to share.
Though he left this world too soon, he will always be remembered for his enjoyment of Westerns (The DUKE), a quirky sense of humor, the love of golf, SEC Football (Hotty Toddy) and being a great and loving Dad.
Doug is survived by his sons Payne Anderson Reese (University of Mississippi) and Gage Silliman Reese (Prestonwood Christian Academy), sister Karen Reese Shaw, niece Annie Roche (Dafydd), nephew Paul Shaw (Josie), great nephew Bryn Roche, his aunts Jo Anne Norwood (David), MaryAnn Reese and Rebecca Cultra as well as a host of cherished extended family and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack “Pop” and Louise “Lollie” Reese, grandparents Hazel “Honey” and Paul Silliman and James and Charlotte “Caggie” Reese and uncles Rev. Edwin Silliman and Bill Reese.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held Friday, October 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew United Methodist Church, located at 5801 W. Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75093.
If it is your wish, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in memory of Doug to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org , Oral Cancer Foundation donate.oralcancer.org or a favorite charity.
Payne and Gage are sincerely thankful for all your heart felt text and wishes.
