It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Keith Blandford who left us on October 30, 2024, at the age of 64. Doug was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend, and a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Doug’s life was filled with many hobbies including coin collecting, riflery, and amateur radio and he poured out his heart into each of his hobbies from a young age. He also excelled in swimming and shot put in track and field in his childhood years. He once held his breath for 2 lengths of a 25-yard pool and held the record for an 8 lb. shot at his elementary school. His friends and family remember Doug as a man who found joy in the details and appreciated the beauty of life whether through shared interests of others or quiet conversation.
Doug was involved in Young Life through high school and enjoyed the summer camps of Frontier Ranch in Colorado and Saranac in upper state New York. In his later years Doug witnessed his love for Christ to his countless Uber passengers and prayed with them in his daily journeys.
For many years, Doug was a stay-at-home father. He had so much love and pride for his children, that he never hesitated to express how proud he was of them.
Doug is survived by his father Keith Blandford; his children Ben Blandford (Adelaide), Danielle Blandford, Stephen Blandford; grandson Robert Blandford; his brother Greg Blandford (Beth); sister-in-law Holly Peters; nieces & nephews Joshua Blandford, Sarah Blandford, Mattie Blandford, Isaac Blandford (Blake).
