Dorothy "Dotty" Ann Kerrigan Panchuk, 74, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Known for her infectious smile, warm blue eyes, and boundless compassion, Dotty spent her life offering love and kindness to everyone she encountered. She made it her mission to ensure that no one ever felt alone—always ready with a warm bed, a welcoming home, and the heart of a true friend. Her generous spirit and unwavering support shaped the lives of many, especially her children, Todd and Kerri, whom she raised with tireless devotion, love, and encouragement.
Dotty was born on April 25, 1951, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Hugh J. Kerrigan and Dorothy Brower Kerrigan. The fifth of six children, she was raised in Foxborough, Massachusetts, in a lively, close-knit family. In August 1974, she married the love of her life, Nicholas Panchuk. Together they built a life in Maine and later in Texas, where Dotty balanced her roles as a devoted mother and a successful professional in the insurance industry—where she also cultivated many lifelong friendships.
Dotty was a fierce believer that a good mother is a mother to all children, and she lived that belief every day. Her home was a sanctuary, especially during holidays, when her festive spirit, attention to detail, and loving hospitality made every guest feel like family.
She is survived by her beloved children, Kerri Ann Panchuk and Todd Hugh Panchuk (and daughter-in-law Mindy), as well as her cherished granddaughter, Kerrigan Ann Panchuk. She is also
survived by her sisters, Jeanne Carney Nickerson, Lois Kerrigan Carney, and June Capece, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who adored her. The six months she spent with her granddaughter served as a reminder that even in the most difficult of circumstances, Dotty remained loving, hopeful for the future, and a devoted and proud "Didi" to her first and only granddaughter.
Dotty was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Nicholas Panchuk; her parents, Hugh and Dorothy Kerrigan; and her siblings, Maureen Kerrigan Moore and Hugh Kerrigan Jr.
Dotty’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to live on in all who were fortunate to know her.
A funeral mass will be held for Dorothy Panchuk at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Foxborough, Massachusetts, 58 Carpenter St., Foxborough, MA 02035-2434. She will be laid to rest with her husband immediately following the funeral mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Foxborough.
The Panchuk family intends to hold a memorial and Celebration of Life in Plano, Texas. Details will be forthcoming for those who wish to attend the Plano memorial later in the summer.
