Donna Kay Miller was born on April 14, 1939, in Frederick, Oklahoma, as the only child of James B. and Leta M. (Elam) Miller.
She graduated, summa cum laude , from Comanche High School in Oklahoma in May 1957. Donna then attended Cameron Jr. College, Lawton from 1957-59 and transferred to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Education) in 1961. She was listed on the President’s and Dean’s Honor Rolls as a Special Honors Graduate and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, Nu chapter.
On July 1, 1961 she married, her love, Vernon R. Pratt, a newly commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. The Army allowed both, Donna and Vernon, to attend the U.S. Army language school in Monterey, California before assigning Vernon to a three-year post in the German Federal Republic, Kaiserslautern, Germany. Donna worked as the secretary/bookkeeper at the Chapel and taught GED classes, 1963-65. From 1974- 77 Donna was manager/treasurer at the Carpenter’s 329 Credit Union, in Oklahoma City. From 1977-2000 she was the accountant bookkeeper for IBEW, 1141 in Oklahoma City. She was a member of the Office & Professional Employees International Union 381 for 25 years. She was a member of the Southwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City for 21 years. As retirees, Donna and Vernon moved to Frisco, Texas in 2004, where they joined Prestonwood Baptist Church and became active members in the Disciples Class.
Donna learned to sew at an early age and regularly made her own clothing, even her wedding dress. She also made home décor, clothing, and costumes for family members. She played high school basketball and bowled in college. Donna was an avid OSU fan! She enjoyed watching football and basketball, ok, well really anything Pistol Pete. Donna made it a goal to attend as many events of her children and grandchildren as possible, whether music, dance, or sports. She loved to cheer them on! Donna was an excellent cook, handing down her skills along with many family recipes. She was an example of a Proverbs 31 woman.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, James B. and Leta M. Miller.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Vernon R. Pratt, Frisco, Texas; son, Darryl V. & Keena Pratt, Prosper, Texas; daughter, Valerie L. & Dr. Stephen Müller, Forest, Virginia and grandchildren, Madison and Makenzie Pratt, Prosper, Texas, Abigail Müller, Frisco, Texas, David Müller, Jupiter, Florida, Caleb Müller, Lynchburg, Virginia and Kaylee Müller, Forest, Virginia.
Jesus called Donna Kay home on the morning of June 19, 2021.
She was 82 years old and ready to run, leap and praise the Lord!
There will be a Visitation starting at 9:00 am with a Celebration of Life to follow at 10:00 am on Friday July 9, 2021 at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W. Park Boulevard, Plano, Texas.

Interment will be at 2:00pm that afternoon at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. Pallbearers are Steve Müller, David Müller, Caleb Müller, Frank Lucas, Kent Langston and John Lewis.
